I am thinking of upgrading my current computer for a few reasons:
1) b-day coming up
2) Want a more powerful system
3) Prices are cheap
4) Want to watch dvd movies and do things like ripping and encoding

Right now I have a p2 400 with an asus p299 along with a 30 gb 7200 and 256 pc 133 sdram. These are the specs I am currently thinking about: ($$CANADIAN$$)

AMD K7 Thunderbird 1.2G 266FSB $189.99= $218.48
ABIT KT7A 266MHZ ATA-100 Socket A SD ram $179.99= $206.98
Cambridge SoundWorks DeskTop Theater 5.1 DDT2200 $179.99= $206.98
Sound Blaster Live! Value 5.1 OEM $89.99= $103.48
16x Pioneer DVD drive $99.99= $114.98

***Seeing as how I just bought 256 mb pc 133 sdram like 2 weeks ago, I am not going to go with a ddr board, I believe if I need more power, I could always put in aother 128mb or 256mb of pc 133 sdram, bringing me up with 384mb or 512mb!!***

Well what do you guys think? Pls give me your recommendations and comments, thx a lot!

Looks good, you'd prob be better off buying a 1gig and oc'ing the 200 mhz, or buying a better HSF and OC'ing more. Either way it would be less than the 1.2
