Alright, I've read some information regarding overclocking and I've got to say: I'm a little scared. I've never overclocked mainly because I've never had to. But now, with Crysis only running on 70% high, and 30% medium I feel as though I'm not getting my moneys worth with my new PC.

I'd like to know the simplest/safest route to squeeze the most juice I can out of my PC, without fear of destroying my hardware components. Are there user friendly programs out there that can help? Specs in sig.

Thanks.

Your PC is fine...the problem is Crysis. It pushes current hardware to its limit. If you want you can download Rivatuner and OC your card a bit..but increases would be incremental at best. Play Crysis at Medium at your native resolution (1280 x 1024, like I did with an 8800GT/A64x2 setup) and enjoy the game; it looks great at Medium.

Q6600 runs hot, so if you overclock it you will need a good cooler. They are really easy to overclock though, you can start by just raising the FSB a few MHZ at a time and see how it goes, honestly you can likely get it to 333MHZ without having to even raise any voltages. Check out the CPU forums and read some overclocking posts to get the advanced stuff. Chances of permanent damage are very low, worst thing that is likely to happen is no POST which should be fixed by resetting the CMOS. Your CPU will shut down before it will burn out so you don't really need to worry about that anymore.
