Ride:
This argument depends on which side of the fence you are on.
Dems: "we want every vote to count" The real thing they want is that is true as long as they get more votes, if was really true then we'd be doing this everywhere because the as the dems say "we want every vote to count". For them that statement is only true for the 4 counties in Florida where the Dems think they will pick up votes, not even all the counties Florida as in "every vote counts".
Reps: "hand counts, blah blah blah..." Real meaning is "that if you let those Dems keep counting the votes, they'll find a way to rig the count." The Dems control the election boards in those counties and whether that is a real threat that the vote will be rigged or not, it is not unreasonable to suspect it.
Now the interesting thing happens in court (of course). If the secretary of state calls the vote final on Tuesday, Bush wins, unless the absentee vote trend changes. The Dems will have to pursue that in court, and they will tomorrow as part of their counter to the Rep motions. To even have a hand count done past tuesday night, the Dems need help from the courts. I suspect they will get it too.
