Total knee replacement, what to expect?

From all of my reading she may have had an issue, but there are ways to fix what is wrong by having a revision surgery. Nothing is 100%.

Customer was still having issues months later. Changed Dr.'s. The new guy does an xray/ct/whatever...the replacement never set/adhered/stuck/?? in the bone and was slopping around. Welcome to a new surgery but he's been good since.

It sounds like the lady mentioned above never went to follow up visits or she had a shitty surgeon. Just like your customer...

You should Always shop for a surgeon and base your selection on his documented results and success rates.

I would hope that's a 1 off fluke but I wouldn't be surprised...

Never had one but I have been to couple month long rehab visits and there were lots of knee replacement people in there and the one thing they stressed to them is get up and get moving asap. Good luck.

Watch the documentary "Bleed Edge". They discuss the bullshit associated with medical implants and knee implants are one of the items covered. Seems the FDA will approve anything

Are you always so negative?

I understand what you are saying, but there are bad outcomes in any type of major surgery. There are also many thousands of Knee Replacement patients that would probably differ with that opinion. That is why the search for a competent surgeon is one of the most important steps.

I have finally gotten to point where I can start getting back to normal. The operation wasn't bad and I had an excellent nurse(s)

Using a walker to shuffle around as best as I can. I had read that the replacement knee will never feel like the real deal. I must be an exception to that rule as the old arthritic knee felt like a foreign object most of the time. This new knee feels like it belongs. The one thing that I have noticed is that along the meeting lines between the Tibia and Femur there were always obvious nobs and grooves. The new knee joint is smooth with no nobs or grooves.

Last week I was in stage 1 ( what the fuck did I do to myself Stage ). I'm feeling much better now.

I had to delay PT for a week due to bleeding and blood thinners. I should be able to start back up on Friday 1 March 2019.

I thought you would have bigger legs anyway that's a big cut. If you watch a video of one of those operations there are all over the place its amazing at all goes back together.

No the surgery was on the 22nd of February. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops due to an irregular heart beat PVC's. They were no issue at all and many have them.

The mini skirts are gone sadly and I'll probably never get my job as a male stripper back

I get asked that a lot. but for the record I am not the former Governor of South Carolina. For many years everybody at work called me "The Governor". Some old timers still do and all the younguns get a really puzzled look. I don't think they even know who the former gov was.

Not at all. They do blood thinners to help prevent blood clots in the legs after surgery. I think for two weeks. I also have these leg pumps that massage the legs while sitting to prevent clots.

I watched a video and you're right. It is amazing they get everything back together at all.

I have always had skinny chicken legs. LOL

My FIL had his knee replaced several years ago. He is a tough old guy but was in excruciating pain after the replacement. At one point, he said "I shouldn't have done this." However, eventually all his pain passed and now he walks just fine and isn't in pain and says it was worth every bit of pain.
