I got asked to leave the bookstore at my college campus, and never to come back. I went on a tirade. :)

Online is the way to go.

study guide for microecon... bookstore = $32 + tax used. Half.com = $6 + $2 shipping

speech book... bookstore = $60 + tax half.com = $35 + $2 shipping new

history book... bookstore = $75 + tax used half.com = $15 + $2 shipping used

yes I definitely think half.com > bookstore

hell, even if I was paranoid about buying from half.com, I could buy them all at barnes and not get charged any tax.

You aren't supporting you university clubs/activities by paying a little extra at your school sponsored book store? :|:|

:p

Serves 'em right!

The one (and only one) advantage to buying at your local bookstore is that you can return for full refund within first week of class.

I buy there when I'm unsure I'll actually need said textbook. I've had a couple of classes where the whole textbook was available online.

Man, today I saw my university book store selling the Bible for $40! That's ridiculous!

I bought 3 from Amazon.com and 3 from Half.com, found 2 on eBay with less than 2 hours left, so a total of 5 from eBay INC and 3 from Amazon :)

EDIT>>> good ole Trillian logs... (damn I have messages from 2002 in there)... http://www.sunyexchange.com/

Jebus, how many classes are you taking? The most I ever had was $400 worth of books from the bookstore, but I borrowed, shared, and bought used enough to average about $100 a semester.

6 total, but some classes require 2+ books and some require none.
