Total Available Graphics Memory: Nvidia

I was just browsing the Nvidia control panel for my GTX 480 and under 'Detailed Information' it lists my 'Total Available Graphics Memory' as 4095. So I assumed this was because of setting to 4096 in my bios. I went into bios and changed it to 2048 and went back into the Nvidia 'Detailed Information' of the control panel and it still lists 4095 as 'Total Available Graphics Memory'

its a combination of the about of video memory on the card and how much shared video memory.

for example mine is 1791 shard, and 768 video for a total of 2559mb

The amount of shared memory is related to how much ram is in the machine.

At least that is how I understand it

Where in the bios of your board does it allow you to change it from 4096 to 2048...? This is normaly for boards with onboard video but with a dedicated video card inserted this feature is disabled... Also did not know they made a 4gig GTX480...? Are you sure your not seeing your system memory...? Just looks odd to me but I dont really mess with Nvidia any more...
