Well, I just saw two notebooks side by side at CompUSA.
One: 15" XGA
Second: 15.4 WXGA
I thought that the resolutions would be comparable, i.e. the font sizes would be about the same.
I opened a full-screen document on each system, and set the font to Arial 12 point on both, and typed a few identical lines of text.
THE FONTS ON THE 15" XGA WERE MUCH LARGER!!!
Why is this, should it be, or was something amuck with one of the computers at CompUSA. If it SHOULD be this way PLEASE EXPLAIN, because I am damned confused.
Later, I checked a 15" SXGA+ 1400X1050 and did the same test. The fonts were almost the same size as on the WXGA 15.4". Total and complete confusion.
Please advise ASAP, the decision I need to make by the first of next week is based on my being able to see the text on a notebook without squinting!! Yes, I know that you can play with the DPI settings, etc. but it is somehow never the same as true native.
Thank you,
Andrew
