i got a toslink cable to go from my sat to my receiver, and it wont really stay in, the one that goes into the dish fits, but it fall right out, its not lose, but it just wont click in, i dont want to push it in really hard it just dosent feel right, and the connection to my receiver is even worse. the cable works and transmits the sound but its not a secure fit at all. any advise?

Just making sure, but did you check to make sure there isn't a protective cap on the ends of the cable?

If not, then it sounds like a poorly made cable.

As PurdueRy said, make sure you take off those little clear plastic caps on the optics lens. I left it on once and it did what you said.

Those Monoprice ones you have I have in 6ft, 12ft, and 25ft runs and all of mine fit nice and snug where they go once the clear plastic cap is off.

wow im retarded, they had lil caps on the tips. now its all good :) funny cuz it sounded perfectly fine with the lil caps on, but i guess they dont do much to hinder the light.

Another thing, if you break off the little piece (flap) on the toslink input of the receiver, it will fit loose.
I don't know if these are replaceable or not.

I've got one on my receiver that came off and my toslink cable would'nt stay tight and fall right out. I just took a very tiny wood shim and wedged it in there. Works fine now.

GG. I wouldn't of even think it would have fit without taking them off.
Why would they have gold plating around the fiber optic cable if they just put protective caps on them, you need to make sure that the gold has something to connect to :p
