Has anyone ever worked with this notebook before?

I am having a few problems

I am running XP, I am having problems with the notebook freezing and no sound.

Any help would be appericated.
 
Is the sound detected in device manager? If so, make sure the volume knob at the front of the unit is turned up. Did you just upgrade to SP1? Machines with the Yamaha AC-XG, yours is DS-XG, have to have a updated driver loaded after installing SP1. Are you getting any specific blue screens or error messages with the freezing. Plugged in, running on battery? Any program or one in particular?
