Toshiba tech support has been stumped. Who knows how to add RAM to a 440CDT?

I believe you need to remove battery, take out three or so screws on bottom, remove keyboard and then the front cover lifts up and memory goes there. I also think the max for that model is 144mb EDO. Good luck.

Not that I don't trust or believe you, I'm just going to wait for more consensus before I go about dissassembling a laptop that isn't mine. But yeah, seems like keyboard removal is the ticket, as the bottom only allows HD/CDROM/battery access. 🙂

No problem man, not under the keyboard, but the front panel where the two mouse buttons are. The only way to remove that is to remove the keyboard first. I?ve probably done it 20 times or so on that model. No guts no glory.:beer:
