Toshiba SD-M1502 or Pioneer #115?

I had a Pioner 104S and upgraded to a Toshiba SD-M1402. Best upgrade I've done in a while. The Pioneer is sooooooo loud, and the Toshiba reads CDRs/CDRWs better.

I should have searched the forum before strting a new topic. I found the threads I was looking for but more feedback is always appreciated. Noise is of more concern to me than the ripping speed, which seems to be the opposite for most people. Id much rather get the less noisier but either way, I can't make a bad decision. Both seem to make great drives. Thanks

BTW, is there a way to attach my CDRW and my soon-to-be-shipped DVD-ROM to the sound card? Do I need a splitter or something?

Your sound card should have at least two audio-in slots for pulling audio from devices. If you're buying your DVD-ROM bare, you're going to need to pick up an audio cable in order to draw sound from it to the sound card.

Too bad the 1502 rips at only 2x...You'd better get the 1402. I had both the pionner and the toshiba and the toshiba is quiter for sure.

I have a Pioneer DVD106 and it is not that loud. I would have bought a Toshiba but it did not have as high speed DAE as the Pioneer.
