Toshiba SD-M1212 DVD-Rom wont read SVCDs

When I put an SVCD into it.. the CD spins like crazy and explorer pretty much locks up until I hit escape.

I am running Windows 2000 and I believe the SVCD was burned with Nero [my friend made it]. Also my CDRW and a normal CD-Rom in another computer can read it fine.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks in advanced.

Reburn the CD, only this time at a slower speed or different mode (recommend mode2). My SD-M1212 has no problems reading SVCD's. Another option is to check to see if there is a new firmware update, but in all likelihood, this is probably not necessary.

I am not sure what speed he burns his SVCDs at, but I guess that could be the problem. I even tried flashing my firmware before posting here, but that was not successful. I am going to try to clean it out with compressed air when I get a chance, I guess.
