Toshiba Satilite Bottom Fan Not Spinning

My toshiba laptop which has about 2 years use in it has stop using its bottom FAN. Im not sure if its the CPU fan because im nopt big in laptop hardware. anyways the fan not spinning results in the laptop crashing within 5 minutes of normal boot. If I boot in safe mode everthing seems to run normaly and no crash. Just wanted to get some suggestion on what I should do to fix this since my warranty has expired.

Thanks, Kenny

I'm not quite sure what you wanna know. That fan is probably your laptop's only fan, and working in safe mode is putting less stress on everything. I've had three Toshibas, and they've all required major disassembly to replace the fans.

Bottom fans on laptops make no sense to me; they're usually sitting on a desk or lap or whatever anyway. Side fans are where it's at.

If a fan is located on the side, that puts a design limit as to how big the fan can be. But a bottom fan can be as big as the designer wants it to be. Most bottom fan laptops have some feet on the bottom that lift it up off the work surface to give it good ventilation.

To answer the opening post question, I would like to know what model of laptop you have and what are the specifications of the unit? What CPU and GPU do you have installed? Some laptops will automatically spin the fan down when it's not in use.
