Toshiba Satellite® C655D-S5048 15.6" Widescreen Laptop Computer With AMD Athlon™ II Dual-Core P320 Processor
http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...56-Widescreen/
* Large 3GB memory lets you run demanding programs.
* 320GB hard drive holds thousands of songs, photos and documents.
* Wireless-N for high-performance, cable-free networking. Lets you access wireless networks to share files, surf the Web and exchange email. Can provide improved range and speed within a Wireless-N (draft 802.11n) network, and is also compatible with 802.11b/g networks. Wired networking is supported, too.
* 15.6" diagonal TruBrite® LCD screen.
* Plays and burns CDs and DVDs.
* Memory card reader for fast, easy photo transfers. Transfer your digital photos, music and other files from 4 types of memory cards: Secure Digital (SD), SDHC, miniSD and MultiMediaCard (MMC).
* Keyboard's integrated numeric keypad speeds data entry and calculations.
* Provides up to 3.8 hours of battery life on a single charge.
* Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The newest version of Windows makes everyday tasks simple.
Edit: I think that I'm going to keep this one, and return the other Compaq to Staples (see other HD thread). I can't return it to OD anyways, since I opened it.
One big CON about this laptop, the lid is thin plastic, on the back of the LCD screen. When closed, you can easily push and dimple down the back of the screen. This cannot be good.
Other than that, it's nice, and the surprising lack of bloatware (with the exception of Norton and Google Toolbar) is refreshing.
I ran the AMD Virtualization testing tool, and it says that Hyper-V (and therefore XP Mode) is good to go. There is no Virtualization off switch in the BIOS though.
