Toshiba Satellite 5200

Ok heres my dilemna. I purchased this laptop new about 4-5 years ago for approx $3800. It has been well looked after and is definitely fully featured but for the first time in its life has failed. I sent into the toshiba repair facility and it requires a resister board. The board is $484 and labour $200. Would you invest approx. $700 into this laptop or put it towards a brand new one, can I get one as comparable for a $1000?

Heres the specs of the 5200.

What honestly would you do?

for 1000 you could get a new laptop that would blow that old toshiba out of the water.

700 to fix the old one is not worth it at all.
