I am going to buy this exact laptop...just trying to find the place with the best deal on it.

Currently I have a 15% off coupon for OD, but they are showing out of stock on this. BB has this setup with $100 rebate right now as well.

Hopefully OD will get this back in stock soon as that is the better deal for me.

It is a good laptop for the price...It won the $1500 and under laptop shoot out on TechTV and has had some great reviews on the web.

Yeah, I really like this one because the rebate isn't so much that I would go crazy waiting for it. I just got burned badly on eBay so I want someplace to order from that is reliable.

Don't do business with Guaranteed PC in St. Pteresburg, FL!!!!!!!

I went to my local OD yesterday to check this lappy out first hand...nice unit!!! The screen is nice and clear, the keyboard is of normal size and it has a nice features that I liked: full CD controls on the front of the unit..I play a lot of CDs.

OD.com still says out of stock, but talking to the sales geek (clueless about computers) he said the online shop is totally out and won;t get more. I am still trying to see if I can use my 15% off coupon from my e-mail in store...have to work on that. BB may be the next best deal with the $100 BB rebate and the $50 Toshiba rebate.

All the reviews I found on this so far are very good.

Seems as if I am the only person workign this deal, but just in case someone else is looking for this:

OD.com does its online stocking by state. Took me posting on my forum in search of ZIP codes to find a state with these in stock, but I scored in Maryland, Wisconsin and Michigan.

With the 15% off coupon I have and free shipping the total before tax comes to $1062.50 + 2.9% tax = $1093.30 - $50 rebate = $1043.30 when it is all said and done.

Nice price for a pretty nice notebook, without a lot of work or a huge rebate to worry about.

Hope this helps someone

Hahaha Tiffster = Non Gamer

We have a PS2, Dreamcast, GameCube and soon to add an XBox at my house and I hardly ever play any of them. The most I play on the PC is The Sims and Sim City...when I am really bored.

I just called my nearest OD, and they said thats a model that they haven't carried in about 6 months, with no plans to get any more in stock.

WTF?

All my local B&M ODs have them in stock, it's the online ones I am having trouble with. Can't use that 15% coupon in the store or this would have already been purchased.

As for a ZIP code, try 20653. Thats somewhere in Maryland...they had them in stock on Sunday.

The Gateway Portland, Oregon OD has 1 in stock, brand new in box for $1249

I would buy it but I'm waiting for another smokin' deal like this, Dell Inspiron 2650SE for $1,023 after MIR and it comes LOADED.

P4 1.7GHz-M,14.1 XGA, 256MB 200MHZ, 24X CD-RW/DVD combo, 20GB, Modem/NIC for $1470 - 10% off - $300 rebate = $1,023

This laptop is good. I saw it at Fry's when they play the DVD. The picture was sharp.

If I didn't buy the presario, I would get this one instead

Thus far I'm not...I have friends in the locations that have them in stock...free ship to them and then pay $12 to ship to me. Hassle...yes, but it is a good deal.

I was going to do the Dell deal, but had one too many people say Dell rebates take forever...I would rather do the Toshiba and not have to deal with a rebate (well $50 rebate, but that isn't that big of a deal)

$50 is a big rebate for me. having to report viewsonic to the ftc because they won't pay the $50 they owe me from the a90 od deal
anyone interested, they have the hp zt1135 ($999.88) and compaq 725 ($1149.xx i think) on clearance. may have gone lower (?)

Well I would rather be waiting on $50 from Toshiba, thean $300 from Dell...guess that is what I meant. $50 wouldn't be a deal breaker for me on this one.
