Does anyone know how to remove the HD on the above laptop? My Toshiba A45 has a door on the bottom to remove the HD, the 1115 only has memory and battery door on the bottom.

Any Ideas?

This computer has a Bloodhound.w32.EP virus and I would like to get the HD out and run a virus scan from my desktop computer. The CD-ROM on the laptop is not working, I'm guessing because of the infection, is there a way to clean it from a USB floppy drive? and if so what do I need to copy to the floppy to clean this laptop.

Any help is appreciated.

you can do it from a usb floppy. Lots of times companies release individual scripts to get rid a certain virus. Just download the script. Another thing you could do is try opening your cdrom on your other computer to your network (in other words, make the cd rom visiable over teh network). this way, you could use the cdrom from your other computer.

Sorry for the delay, but been away for some time.

Tried to use a USB Thumb Drive with virus program on it and the computer claims something about not being a 2.0 drive. Also tried to use USB floppy and does not see on boot up.

I think if I can get the drive out, I can use a USB enclosure and hook up to a desk top with good virus definations. I just can figure how to get the drive out. On the bottom of the computer, there is about 6 screws and when you remove them the cover still does not seperate. I don't want to break anything by prying apart..........Any Ideas on how to get this thing apart?

Any help is appreciated.

This might help . . .

1115 HDD

It would seem that this is not a user replaceable HDD. :(
