Hey,
I recently bought a Toshiba x505 laptop.. It has the GeForce GTS 250M GPU in it with drivers dated back 8/24/09...

I tried to download and install the latest nVidia 195.62 drivers for NOTEBOOKS with Win 7 64-bit... and the installer says it can't detect any hardware that is compatible with the driver....

Any ideas?

Nvidia doesn't release drivers for on board video for laptops.
You have to get the drivers from the laptop manufacturer.
And the 8-28-09 driver is the latest available.

Yes, they do. That's why they've had the notebook drivers on their website for some months now. They're meant to support all mobile graphics chips.

As for the OP, you can always "manually" install your drivers through the device manager. Here's the guide:

http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/11997-have-disk-method-for-windows-7-vista/

You SHOULD be able to use the INF from the driver you download from Nvidia's website (notebook driver). If not, get the latest modified INF from www.laptopvideo2go.com.

Just so you know, sometimes that method doesn't automatically pick the right card for you. Sometimes you have to scroll through a big list of cards and pick the right one. If it's not there, try the modified INF, as said above.
