I wonder what controller it uses.

The 128GB drive specs sure look like Sandforce (552/501 MBs* *ATTO Disk Benchmark 2.47).

The newest Plextor also uses Toshiba's NAND but in this case you don't have to pay price premium. I am also not happy with Plextor's too aggressive GC when idle. I'd gamble with Toshiba this time or... maybe the proven Intel 335 tech?

That seems to be the retail name for THNSNF/THNSNH series, which is SandForce based. Specs are a match and Toshiba hasn't used any other SATA 6Gbps controllers.

The THNSNF/THNSNH series have different part numbers, e.g.
THNSNH128GCST4PAGA and THNSNH128GCST
for 128gb parts.

SSD - Q Series - 128GB
Part number: HDTS212EZSTA

It's a different drive, perhaps with less features (as it seems a bit cheaper).

The THNSNF/THNSNH series is OEM-only, which would explain the difference in part numbers. The Q-series also seems to be limited to European market and part numbers are often region specific.

There aren't really any features you can enable/disable either, so I can't see how it would be majorly different from the THNSNF/THNSNH series.

All I have is this and that. Both available in the same region. Without actual product in hands, I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Also, there is a steep price difference, that put me on alert.

Looks like the only way to find out, is to buy it

OMG Toshiba, Man I think there needs to be a large poster up on this site.

Only buy Sammy and Crucial SSDs. imo
