Yup, same here.

Changed order of links from my posts since it seems to confuse people. Go to the "Toshiba SSD link" (shows all Toshiba SSD's on Newegg) and add the 256GB kit that costs $149.99 to your cart. Checkout! :)

Newegg seems to have an issue with the original page.

Someone posted on SD that you can sign up for 5% cash back from Discover card for the quarter. If I were to buy 2 with the coupon and get 5% cash back, that would be: $130.62 each. Damn tempting!!!

Edit #2: Wish these would sell out. Trying my best to not buy two of them, lol! :p

As I suggested last week, I bought 2 of the non-kit drive with the coupon and the Discover quarterly CB. :) It's the most basic product box ever!

Of course that means I spent double but I'm sure my sister will appreciate the SSD.

I get the $149 price and an ADD TO CART button for a split second then it goes away, clicking directly from the email sent by Newegg. Damn irritating.

I get the same, that's why I went 'backwards' to the Toshiba page at Newegg to add it to the cart.

I couldn't get it to work no matter what I did in Chrome. Switched to FF and it worked fine. Odd.

Strange, because I was trying in FF and no go. Regardless, it seems to have been fixed on Newegg's end and is working now.

Update -- both Newegg and Amazon have the drive for $149.99 (just seems to be the drive and nothing extra):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc..._-20168063-L0C

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-HDTS22...s+HDTS225XZSTA

I am seriously considering it to replace a drive in my Latitude E4310. Thoughts?

There are only 2 things I can say against it. One, unlike Intel or Samsung, Toshiba does not provide any utility to give you an estimated remaining life, and two, this is a 9.5mm drive, so even if it fits in your current laptop, a lot of ultrabooks use 7mm drives, so you may not be able to use it in your future laptop.

Yeah, I'm thinking it might be worth $28 extra to get the 840 EVO.

If I remember reading correctly about the 50% capacity deal is that the drive "reorganizes" the data structure once it hits 50% but after it does, the performance goes up again, not to the same levels as nearly empty drive, but kind of close. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@IndyColtsFan - 840 EVO is $159 today at ebay daily deal. Not as good as $140 a while ago, but that one sold out almost instantaneously.

Interesting, thanks.

EDIT: Thanks fleshconsumed. I just bought one.

Did you guys use the Newegg mobile site and 10% code yesterday bringing this to $135?

(code expired today).

I just cloned my Samsung 830 RAID 0 setup to two of the Toshiba 256GB units in RAID 0 and it's fast. There are a few items that I can actually tell the difference in loading but most feel the same. Windows startup was mind boggling fast but I discovered that my WD RED drive attached slows that back down (not sure why but when the WD drive is disconnected, Windows load is blazing fast).

Benches at 1650 AS-SSD and over 1,000,000MB/sec in reads and writes in the upper levels of ATTO.
(Samsungs were at 1300 AS-SSD and 1,000,000MB/sec read and 820,000MB/sec writes in ATTO)

P.S. There is a new mobile Newegg (m.newegg.com from a mobile device or if using an addon with Firefox to fool Newegg into thinking you're on a mobile device): MBLOCT12 = $25 off $250+. You can get two of these for $137.50 each after $25 off (or less with cash back).

I got the addon, but I've never been able to figure out how to get it to work. :(
