Hey guys, Comcast Cable Internet is FINALLY available at my house so they are coming next week to set it up. I want to get this modem to use for the service, and I was just wondering if anyone had any first-hand experience with it at all? Please LMK ASAP because I need to get it before Wednesday. Thanks guys!

I have the 2200 and don't even notice it is there :)
Gives me the full 8-9mb download from OOL.

mEaning that in the model Toshiba I have (and I assume the newer ones as well), they use chips that allow for the fastest thruput.
I have Cabelvisions Optimum Online where the download is between 8mb-1MB. My old Mot Surfboard 3100 limited me to around 5mb. WIth the Tosh, I now realize the full speed of 8+mb downloads!
I have never had to do anythign with it other then plug it in. NO maintenace with any cable modem for the most part anyway.

The average "Speed" of a broadband Internet connection is 1-3Mb/sec.

The Toshibas as well as the other Modems are capable of running two to three times faster.

I.e. from"Speed" perspective it does not matter which Cabel/DSL Modem you use.

As far as durability.

If you have a defective Unit or your unit will be strike by lightening it does not matter which brand you have.

In short, as long as your Modem supports the ISP Protocols.

IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH MODEM YOU USE.

Yes it does Jack, ask anyone on OOL where Speeds are above the 1-3mb avg. I would say if you have something in the 1-3 range it wouldnt matter much, but not everyone falls in that range.
