TOSHIBA Notebook harddrive - 30GB 9.5MM $125.08

i bought this drive from these guys for my ibm t20. works great, quieter but hotter than the 6gb drive that came with the notebook. took about a week to get here (OR to WA?), but was overall satisfied.

I called them a few months ago because I was interested in acquiring a 9.5mm notebook drive (I was looking at the IBMs). They were rather curt, and I didn't get a direct answer, so I didn't order from them, either.

At the very least, I suppose if you have an Amex Blue, you can PM with EdgeMicro. That's a the best price I've seen in a while.

ok, ate my words and ordered an IBM instead from
new egg for $126.00 plus 7$ shipping. Good deal.
StorageReviews forums had some mention of this drive as being somewhat quiet and running cooler than most.

Here are the order details:
IBM NOTEBOOK HARD DRIVE 30GB 4200RPM Model # IC25N030ATCS04-0, Part # 07N8326 - OEM, DRIVE ONLY TravelStar 40GN 2.5 inch/9.5mm ATA-5 2mb Cache Buffer 12.0ms Average Seek Time - 3 Year Manufacturer Warranty - 30.0 GB Model#: 07N8326 Special FedEx Saver Shipping $7.00

Arrrrgghh.. I just bought the IBM 40GN several weeks ago from Allstarshop for $135 + shipping (which amounted to something like $10). At the time New Egg just had the 30GN for $130 or something. I was just thinking that tho.. it's about time for the price to go down, but I needed a drive and that was that. Good drive tho =) Just wish I could predict the future 🙂

-acebathound- one more reason that you should apply for amex blue card and use it w/ all high price item.
