Toshiba Notebook flashes white

Alrighty, here's the deal. I have a Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155 whose LCD screen flashes white immediately upon powerup. Between flashes, you can see the background, but it would be enough to induce a seizure. The flash seems to come from the outside of the screen towards the center, but that might just be an optical illusion. Interestingly enough, this doesn't occur as long as a window is maximized onscreen. Right now, I have IE maximized. Virus scans by the latest McAfee and adware by Ad-Aware both yeilded nothing that fixed the problem. This also occurs in safe-mode. I would normally say it was a hardware problem, except that the computer works fine as long as something is maximized onscreen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

it's a bios or hardware issue, i personally wouldn't do anything if it wasn't doing anything uner normal operation, but if it bugs you then update your bios and see that stops it.

sounds like a weird kind of video artifact...i would try maybe reinstalling the video drivers or something
