I have this Toshiba Satelite Pro 6100 that won't start at all.
It won't start on battery or pluged in the outlet. When I press the power button, I see the green led for the optical unit light up a second then nothing.
So I took out the battery, optical drive and HDD and nothing. Shouldn't a laptop be able to POST without a HDD?
Please give me some ideeas.

I had a Dell do something like what you've described a couple weeks ago. Resetting the CMOS fixed most of its problems. I had to hold down the power button for about 15 seconds with the battery and power cable removed. I don't know if that same procedure will work with a Toshiba, but give a shot.
