Besides the ability for the A35 to play 24fps......is there any meaningful difference between the 2?

Yes the A35 has 5.1 out so if your receiver has "5.1 in" but only HDMI 1.2 or lower you can still get TrueHD sound.

That said, the A20 DOESN'T have 5.1 output??

In the manual for my A20 it's capable of 7.1.

I have been wondering because I have been trying to get better seperation of the channels on my setup (Onkyo 605 and HD-A20 using HDMI 1.3a cable before anyone ask).

I have been disappointed to say the least.

New topic regarding that issue.

It does not!

It is for normal DTS and DD but you wont get any TrueHD unless your receiver has 1.3 HDMI and it seems you have that.

So my guess is there could be some issues with your set up IE user error.

He is talking about 5.1 ANALOG out. The A20 does not have analog out.

A35 supports streaming HBR audio to your receiver to do the decoding/processing.

Nice if you have a receiver that can decode HBR formats.
