The lowest I had found was $470 + shipping (from a place that I would trust). It was a good enough deal that I ordered one for a client and will make $100 off it.

Really attractive price.

But from cnet.com I heard a lot of concern about the lack of backup battery that may lead to lose of data. It's kind of bothering me.

Can any one who own it already comment on this? Thx.

iPaq H2210/2215, Amazon has it for $399 - $50GC = $349. It is the one I am comparing. Any opinion on selection?

I'm in the market for a pda myself...is the ipaq you mentioned a comparable model? The e755 got some great reviews from what I've read. That lack of battery backup if its true is troubling.

Dang. price just keeps on dropping.

I have the E755 series with Pocketpc2002. Purchased it in May for 599 -100 rebate.
Sigh...

I'm very happy with this unit. I was a palm (visor) convert and had an IPAQ 3600 series until I broke the screen. Decided to get the top of the line and I hated the bulk on the ipaq with the sleeves.
This one fit the bill

The screen is absolutely gorgeous, with 400mhz Xscale processor meaning you can drop the speed to 200mhz if you wish. Best thing with this PDA is that it is one of the few in the market that currently has a 200mhz bus speed --all other PDA's including IPAQ's (don't know about the new IPaqs coming out) still run at 100mhz..

So anyway, this PDA has 64mb of ram +32 NON-Volative Flash ROM (power it off and it still keeps whatever you put in this ROM so no data loss). It's got the interchangeable battery so you technically can have 3-4 batteries on hand and swap them out and have the PDA run forever. Though, I only have 1 main battery due to the fact that it lasts waaaay longer than IPAQs because of the processor (I guess). I used it heavily in the day for appointments and reading books and still have plenty of juice left --though as with all PocketPC's, you have to charge it nightly vs Palm's bi-weekly.

Another good thing is that it is pretty slim (as compared to the 3600 series Ipaq) and has slots for COmpact Flash as well as SD card. (The SD is SDIO so not only does it take memory but other peripherals as well such as Bluetooth --when it comes out-- or GPS or whatever).

Best thing also with this PDA is that it has a built in WIRELESS card -WIFI-. I'm happily surfing in bed on my PDA and except for the PDA screensize, it rocks!!!

I use it heavily for games, though there is still the button lag (if you play emulator games). I'm not sure but I think it does not have the multi-button press issue (ie: not recognizing multi button presses).

What more can I say.. I love this gadget over any of the Ipaqs!!
The 1900 series may fit the bill in terms of size (its smaller) but it does not have all the bells and whistles that this baby's got.

From what I've heard, this baby should be Pocket PC 2003 upgreadable.. that I can't confirm that as of yet.

The thing I don't like about the iPAQ is that it uses BlueTooth rather than WiFi so you still need a sleeve or CF adapter card if you want to participate in most existing wireless networks. On the other hand, the Toshiba weighs 1½ oz more. All in all, I think I'm going to make do with my 8-month old 3835 for a while longer
