Toshiba DVD-ROM drives?

any users? are they good enough?

and I found two models of it: the SD-M1612 and SD-M1712. Toshiba's site said that both are the same but 1612 has 512k buffer and the 1712 only 192k. Does those really matters? and actually.... some online-stores mentioned that they have "SD-M1712 with 512k buffer"... so I'm really confused about this.

Toshiba DVDroms are very good and are some of the quietest optical drives made. I can't help but think that more cache is better than less. I'd get the 1612 if you can still find one. I've got two of the 1612 and I love 'em. I tried to get another about two months ago and all I could find were the newer 1712's.
