Toshiba DVD-ROM Drive

Why does the drive door randomly open on this dvd drive? It is in a system running Win 98SE. Just out of nowhere the door opens and if you put a CD in and close the door it is not recognized. Whats weird is I formated the hard drive and installed the OS with this drive and no problem, after the install the problem started. This drive was taken from another computer because of the same problem so I think its with the drive and not the computer.

Any Ideas?

Sounds like your DVD-ROM drive is malfunctioning. Buy a new one. 🙂

Right-click on Network Neighborhood and select properties. Change the drop-down box to "windows login" and reboot.
