http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...y-hello-to-the-7-7-10-1-and-13-3-inch-slates/

t just announced a trio of Ice Cream Sandwich-packin', Tegra 3-powered additions to its Excite tablet line: a 7.7-inch, 10.1-inch, and 13.3-inch model.

The 7.7-inch model, appropriately named the Excite 7.7, sports a 1280x800 AMOLED display, the quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Ice Cream Sandwich. At just 0.3-inches thick and 13.4 ounces, the Excite 7.7 is a powerhouse in a tiny package.

Stepping it up a notch (in terms of size, anyway), comes Toshiba's 10.1-inch offering, the Excite 10. This one is the more "traditional" tablet (if there is such a thing), sporting a 1280x800 display resolution, 10-finger multi-touch support, the Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and ICS. It weighs in at a modest 1.32 pounds and runs a mere 0.35-inches thick. According to Toshiba, you can expect to get a solid 10 hours of battery life from the Excite 10.1, as well as seven full days of standby time. Also making an appearance on the Excite 10.1 is a full-size SD Card slot, along with microHDMI and microUSB.

And then we have the beast of the group: the 13.3-inch Excite 13. This is basically the same tablet that we saw back at Toshiba World in March, save for one detail: the TV antennae. While you won't be pulling any TV broadcasts to this not-so-handheld, its 1600x900 display and four-speaker sound system will definitely make this the tablet to have for all those who can't live without other forms of cinematic adventures on the go.
Like its smaller siblings, the Excite 13.3 features ICS, the Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, and Ice Cream Sandwich. It's said to have a whopping 13-hour battery life and its 0.4-inch thick frame weights in at 2.2 pounds.

As far as pricing and availability is concerned, the Excite 10 will be the first to hit US soil "at the beginning of May," and will run $450 for the 16GB model, $530 for the 32GB, and $650 for 64GB of storage. The 7.7 and 13 are both slated for a June release, with the 16GB 7.7 for $500 and 32GB model for $580. If the 13 is where it's at for you, though, it'll set you back $650 for the 32GB version and $750 for the 64GB model. Ouch.

All Tegra 3. That 7.7 has m interest, but cripes, at ~500 USD, its over priced.

"The 7.7 and 13 are both slated for a June release, with the 16GB 7.7 for $500"

Yeah I was thinking something like 299.

What with all these expensive tablets ? Do they think people will easily pay this because of how much Apple has charged for their tablets over the years ?

We need tablets out there for $299 to $399 max.

It's got a 1280x800 Super AMOLED Plus screen which justifies the price. If I didn't have a Xyboard I would have bought the 7.7 on launch day at that price.

If they sold the 7.7 for $300 then the Transformer Prime would need to be priced at $250 max to be competitive.

No one should be selling any tablets for more than $399 unless their name begins with Apple. Unless they like sitting on tablets in inventory and end up selling them for 1/5 the price (cough*Hp*cough).

Or you can buy an iPad 3 for $500...Yea not a good price point for that tablet.

I owned an Android phone and Touchpad running ICS but it seems clear to me that nothing is going to challenge Apple in the 10" range and the moment Apple releases a 7" iPad they will destroy everything.

~7" iPad doesn't make much sense when you already have the previous generation iPad filling the lower price bracket, and then the iPod Touch below that.

You must be one of the few who thinks $500 will justify the price.
This thing will be DOA.
BTW, the Prime has 32GB.

I, myself and I'm pretty sure quite a few others would prefer a 7" tablet.
I bought an iPad 3 for my wife.
Its gorgeous but a its a little on the heavy side.
Typing with a 7" would be much easier for me.
Hold it and playing games would be easier.
It would be less hot than the new iPad.
Since the iPad2 is now $399. If they release a 7" with identical specs as the iPad2 for say $299, it would be a grand slam.
$299 would entice all the people who wouldn't otherwise get a tablet right now and simply because its an Apple product.

I would probably pay even $399 for a 7" iPad. 10" is nice for some things but 7" is better for others (much nicer 1 hand operation for instance). The fact the iPad has so much more 3rd party support is icing.

You would but you won't need to.
Apple only choice is to put a 1024x768 on a 7" screen and with that we all would assume identical specs as the iPad2.
Even at $349 vs the 10" iPad2 at $399, it would sell like hotcakes.

A 7" iPad would sell like hotcakes but it will never happen 🙁 I wish for it too.

Why would it never happenned when they are testing one in the lab ??
Sure the article say it might never get released but they wouldn't be testing something if they had no interest in releasing one.

I wonder if that is a Samsung SAMOLED+ or just some crappy pentile AMOLED.

It's supposed to be the exact same one as the Galaxy tab 7.7

The Excite 7.7 has a better screen than the iPad 3 which matters to some people. Besides the iPad 2 was heavier than I wanted and it looks anorexic compared to the iPad 3.

13", 2.2 pound tablet for $650? Who in the hell would buy that? Might as well just get a laptop, because that is way too big and heavy to hold in your hands.
