Toshiba AC Adapter Shutting Off Machine

Everytime I disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop while I'm on it it shuts the whole thing down, it never used to do this, any ideas as to why?

I've messed with the power management options but theres nothing to enable or disable something like this.

It sounds like the battery is critical or dead, and removing the AC is making it turn off as it has no power at that point. While plugged in does it give any indication of battery charge/ing?

Yes, the recharge light is green, which means its fully recharged. Yet when I go into power options the battery is at 0%
