My local circuit city has the Toshiba A55S306 and Compaq X1360US for 1149 and 1299 after rebates with 1 year no interest. The toshiba has the 2mb cache 1.5M but only 256ram, no vid card, 40 hd and 15 inch screen, If I get the Toshiba, I plan on getting another 256 stick, so it will come around 1200.
The compaq is a 1mb cache 1.4M it has 512 ram, radeon 9200, 60hd and 15.4 screen and a longer battery life( I think) than the toshiba.
Im a college student and would mainly use this computer for school work,web browsing, and light gaming such as CS. Also my greatest concern is the structural durability of the laptops, my last p4 Fujitsu's ac plug broke off the circuit board (from normal use and wear) only few months after the 1 year warranty ended.
Putting together my concerns, which laptop will you guys recommend, Im in urgent need of another computer to finish up many papers for summer school, so any quick responses will help. Thanks guys!
