Toshiba 57H82.

Looks to be about $2200 everywhere else.

Shipping included, but only curbside.
White glove (inside your house setup) delivery is extra.

Anyone know of any pros/cons for this model?

Omg...One Call is going crazy with these HD RPTV deals. Anyone who follows TV technology know of a reason why? Are plasma and LCD's soon to drop in price? Good deal btw!

Can you tell me what the key differences are between this model and the DX line? I went to their website and quite frankly, I couldn't really tell what the difference. There are different features listed on the models but no explanation as to exactly what they mean or benefit to the user.

I've been looking for a wide screen and this is pretty hot...especially when you consider it is truly a delivered price w/o sales tax. This is at least $250-$300 better than what I could do locally. I came close to buying a Mitsubishi but held off when I started looking into DLP's (some really cool technology but still expensive).

Would appreciate someone clarifying the differences or links to reviews.

One thing that leapt out at me was the inclusion of a DVI connector with HDCP support, ostensibly for an external digital receiver.
But, seeing as how the standards are still not set, that's not a big issue to me right now.

Other than that....*shrugs*

If anyone is near a bay area Fry's Electronics, they are selling the bigger 65H82 for $1699. I picked one up last month and couldn't be happier.

Of course, for all those who don't live near a Fry's...that is not an option.

I got one for my parents this Christmas. Had little problemo with shipping but the TV is really nice. Under $2000 shipped to CA. No tax here from that One Call.

Unless your a total audiophile/videophile this tv should be more than enough.

You have to call them. 1.866.572.3235. Tell them you heard you can get an HDX online for about another hundred clams or so.

The HDX has higher resolution wide neck CRT's, giving you better picture quality. It has HDCP compliant DVI input too.

Hmm, come to think of it, there's a $100 off a $1800+ coupon too.

OMG...no kidding!!!!

MTG called today and they didn't have the 57H82 in-stock at the WV warehouse, so they were gonna charge me shipping for the 57H82.
So my wife agreed to the 57HDX82, which IS a much better unit (altho I didn't realize it had better CRTs...SWEET!!!!) and I was TOTALLY shocked she went for it.
This is EXCELLENT!

And thanks for the heads-up about the coupon, my man!

Sweet! Let us know how it is once you get it and calibrate it. :)

BTW, are you using Avia, VE, S&V, or getting an ISF to do the calibrations?

Was your "White Glove" service as great as mine?

We got a Mitsubishi 65809 for $2000, paid like $60 for delivery and they show up late (5:40, they guarantee to be there by 5) with ONLY 3 GUYS. Two who barely speak english. Anyway, they get the TV out of their truck, are trying to lift it and hit the edge of the TV on the curb. This is great, there is clearly some physical damage to the TV and who knows what might have been screwed up internally. So my dad calls Fry's, tells them what happends, they say, you can either keep the TV or we'll take it back but we can't guarantee another TV for the same price. I think we got a $300 discount, but we got a 5 Year Warranty, so we got a tech to come out the next day (who appeared to have no clue what he was doing) and said the TV is fine.

We should probably get another tech out here though, to re-inspect the TV... before I start calibrating it ;)

Another thing. I read somewhere on Hometheaterspot.com's forums that Toshiba only had good 4:3 stretches and their 16:9 ones aren't near as good. I may be wrong, but I think that's what someone said.

Dude...you obviously have UNDERESTIMATED both my Hot-Dealing skills and my Long-Term-Planning expertise.

I have had a High Def Pack for my Xbox for almost 6 months, when I scored it from Target on a Red Tag clearance for UBER-CHEAP (less than $10) because I knew...sooner or later...THIS DAY WOULD COME!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh...once the order is placed...there WILL be an OT thread about "Tallgeese's BST Quest"
Believe it or not, MTG wants me to post about it...and even reminded me of several things to include in the thread. LOL!

I'd like to get an ISF calibrate at some point, but the extra buckaroos for that are out of the question right now.
I'll prolly use the Avia disc, since I seem to have seen and heard the best stuff about it, unless you think one of the other methods (aside from a full ISF) is better.

Was looking at getting this and found the 100 of 1800 coupon, but can't figure out where to apply it, when I enter it into the gift code, it says a button appears if I'm eligible for coupons. Any ideas on how to become "eligible?

I bought the 50H82 from Onecall in September and it is one awesome TV. DVD, HDTV and Xbox look fabulous. Instead of waiting 7 years, I'd buy one of these now then upgrade to the latest and greatest when everything is improved and the standards are really set. Then you will still have an extra bigscreen TV for a bedroom or workout room. But for now, this model works great for me - in fact I couldn't even imagine watching a DVD on a 27 or 31 tv anymore! I really wouldn't bother - it makes that big of a difference.

(analog TV doesn't look that great though - it just makes you drool for the day everything is in HD)

Also, I had the free curbside service, but when I politely asked the delivery guy, he said no problem bringing into my house. I tipped him $20, but if you are a cheapskate, I doubt you would have to tip.

I've got all 3 of em right now, and yeah, I agree, Avia is probably the best (short of the ISF calibration).

I bought a Sony 51" WS HDTV from Onecall... their service is excellent. Got the TV in 4 days.

Also, if you slip the driver a $10 he'll help you bring the TV into the house. :)
