Same tv as this one, but new and not reconditioned.

I was in costco today and they had the toshiba tv on display right near the front entrance.

Toshiba 50A62 - $799.99

It's not HDTV ready or have progressive scan, but looks like a good deal for people looking for a regular big screen tv.

 If anyone is dumb enough to jump on this deal, hesitate to give this a thought. If you're in the Los Angeles area. I've got a 50" mitsubiishi tv that I'd be willing to sell for 700 dollars. Thats 100 dollars less with no tax (169 dollars less).

This isn't a "FOR SALE" forum and what you are selling is USED! This TV has a warranty, is NEW and is sold from Costco whcih we all know has an excellent return policy. I saw this TV when I was at Costco today and it looked to be a good deal for the money if you are not looking for HDTV.

You're quite the salesman. Do you always call people "dumb" right before you take their money?

I dont exactly care if it sells or not. Its still a good extra tv for video games. All I know is best buy had a 50" HDTV for $1000 dollars during Christmas. Why mess with something that'll be obsolete in two years (who needs a warranty for somethin like that). 20 percent off for a refurb most would consider a pretty good deal anyways.

I've had this TV a couple of years. I paid $1100 then and don't regret it. It's an excellent 4:3 Interlaced TV with pretty vibrant colors for a RPTV. If I was looking for another non-hdtv RPTV today i'd buy it again.

I have a Toshiba 61in non HDtv .. and I love it, only thing that i don't like, is that TVout via Svideo gets blurred above 800x600.
Toshiba makes excellent Tvs, and this is a good price.

I'll give you 50 bucks for it... AND you deliver it for free to the east coast. Is it a deal?

SO far so good. I like the picture. DVD's are really nice but I have yet to try this with progressive scan...

And you never will, because this TV only displays an interlaced (non-progressive scan) picture. Save your money and get an HDTV. The quality difference, even on DVDs or Xbox/Gamecube, is substantial. And true HDTV programming is phenomenal.

I didn't believe this until I finally broke down and ordered Comcast Digital cable for my Toshiba 42HDX82. Holy cow, what a difference!! Watched the Sugar Bowl and a couple of NFL games in true HDTV - it looks almost 3D. Pretty awesome stuff - I agree, save the money you would spend on this non-HDTV set and wait until you can afford an HDTV capable one.

Hmmm Mid-grade tv for $799 or top of the line for $1500

Its not like people think this is a Wega or something JasonH. For someone who has been on the forums for 5 years, you sure are selective about what you read. Did you even bother to read my earlier posts about this product? Its amazing how lazy some people get on these forums.

Its the affordability, not high-quality. Even if its sold as an analog tv, it uses High Definition components. For a mid-grade tv, that's perfect.

Again, great price, great value for mid-level tv's.
