Sears has this for $549.99. But add it to the cart and the price goes down to $522.49. Now price match with BestBuy who has this set for $549.99 and the final price comes to $470.24. Not that long ago, 6 months ago this TV was going for $599. One nice feature about this display that a lot of the cheaper ones don't have is 16:9 Modes with Vertical Compression. I have been considering the $599 Sony KV32FS120, but if I can get the Toshiba 32AF44 at $470, I will :p

Well, 32" direct view flat tube TVs by JVC and Sharp are also below $500 for the most part at numerous places(and most have vertical compression now too). I am not sure how this TV is better. If it supported 480p I would go for it.. I think for another $200 the Sanyo HDTV is worth it..

I don't get it. How can you pricematch it to bestbuy if they have the same tv for $549.99 which is the same price at sears?

This is a standard tube TV, 480i is good enough. Even the Sony kv32fs120 only supports 480i.

BTW the Sharp 32f641 is $499. This Toshiba is a better price and has a greater name in terms of reliability and performance. If this Toshiba was $599 I would consider the Sharp, but since the Toshiba is cheaper, there is no way in hell I'd consider the Sharp. And JVC... they are hit and miss.

This deal is way wrong.
First of all, you would have to get it at BestBuy for $549.99.
Then have BestBuy price match the Sears online price (maybe instore too, not verified as of yet) of $522.49.
Both BestBuy and Sears have a price match policy of matching the price +10% off the price difference, not 10% off the full price! Which equates to: $549.99 - $522.49 = $27.50 - (Price match 10% of the difference of $27.50 = $2.75) for a total of $30.25 off.

Your new price is $519.74 not $470.24
