I dunno which model I have but I bought a 27" Toshiba Cinema Series 3 years ago and I LOVE IT.

Wish I could have waited to buy a 32" flat but that would be an extra $200 easily.

Toshiba makes great bang for your buck TV's.

Where are you going to buy it from?

I love toshiba sets, mine is set up for calibration which really makes a tv a home theatre.

Your best bet is to find out which Toshiba has the Cinema Series Tube but with out the extra audio (assuming you have a hi-fi VCR or DVD and home stereo).

I got a 32" about 8 years ago now and everyone loves watching movies at my house.

I also had a Rotel tuner, RSP-960AX preamp, 2x120 amp and a 3x120amp, then the Definitive Technologies CLR1000, BP20's and BP10's yummy

I have a similar model. Toshiba sets typically have a very good picture and they're reliable.

Go for it.

It's a good model but there is one thing to watch out for. A number of sets of that model had a distortion on the screen that you can not get rid of. I had read reviews on one site of which I can't remeber where it was. It's been a year or so but about 10% or so of the people that bought it had the same problem. All of the other reviews were very good to excellant.

Toshiba may have fixed the problem since then, I don't know.

I wouldn't buy that TV and have it delivered just because of that problem. It would be a pain to return.
Once you get it, find a channel of a solid background and look very closely to see how uniform the color is all over the screen. The one I picked up had a fairly large blotch just to the left of center in the bottom third of the screen. Green appeared blue was the most common one I remember. It made football fields look rather strange.

I took it back and got a JVC that I am happy with.
