Hello, i have a toshiba laptop and when ever you try to start it up all you hear is the floppy drive turning over then it just sits there, Nothing on the screen at all. It plays cds if you use the cd playing button on the front and works just fine. I've tried different ram and a hard drive and still nothing comes up, Does anyone have any ideas what may be wrong? I've tried using the video out and the monitor out and I don't get anything on the screens. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Joseph Blossom

Do you have to hold down your laptop power button for a second for it to start? I am having a problem with my 1805-S254 as sometimes it will not power up and others it starts up fine. Wondering if it may be the power button being worn.

For now mine is up and just installed Redhat 9, which looks cool. My first dive into Linux.

What kind of memory did you try? If you don't use PC100 or PC133 it won't boot. What happens if you press the "F12" key and then press the power button while holding the "F12" key?
