hmmm... someone said it already... there is no such thing as a 1404 model... only a 1502, 1402 and 1401.

I have this unit, 'cept it was boxed by cendyne... it's a very nice drive... i would recommend it.

I've bought from gogocity.com got my stuff, but it took 5 business days to ship my stuff 2nd day even after I asked if it was in stock.

hmmm CompUSA had a deal... earlier... the cendyne version of this drive and the cendyne version of the hollywood + dvd decoder for $119 after rebates... fry's was offering each piece about $20 cheaper... so after price matching and the rebates you picked the the drive and decoder for about $70.

The kit comes with the software and Hollywood decoder card and is a Buy but isn't a very good deal at $151.95.

umm fry's sells the boxed version under the cendyne label for $100, which includes WinDVD that I was able to upgrade to the latest version w/o paying anything.

Are you saying that the Cendyne is a rebadged Toshiba SD-M1402? If not then your post is misleading.
