Toshiba 12x/40x has premature spindown

while watching movies. Then the movie freezes, and then pins up then freezes. About every 10-15 sec. How do I fix this? Thanks.

put it as the master drive on an ide channel separate from your primary hdd....

it should work fine...also, enable DMA mode, although i doubt that's the cause...

Thats quite strange

I've got the 12/40x toshiba drive ... and it works perfectly for me ...

I have it as a slave on my primary channel .. (my Secondary master is Plextor CDRW) ... and no problems


could the problem possibly be that the PC you are using is underpowered ? im sure there are other possibilities as well ...
