What do you guys recommend or use?
3dmark200x is outta the question for it's too simple.

What should I use to test my videocard?

to simple, loop it and let it run.
But dronz mark
vulpine glmark are two more, but overall most people use 3dmark2001 and loop it for about 12 hours, if it handles that then you have (usually) a stable system.

Don't understand what you mean by "too simple" ?????

put 3DMark2001 in a looping benchmark or Demo and it will beat the hell out of your card.

Want more, go to a higher resolution

edit:

If you have UT, start the game and let the citydemo (the looping sequence that runs till you hit esc)

run for as long as you like. It's pretty good at dropping out if your video card is unstable. (it may take

several loops)

If you could clarify on too simple then we might be able to help you more.
Most of the programs use loops as a redundancy to test your card, 3dmark test a lot of aspects about your card and with the higher res it keeps your video card maxed out(no matter what video card you have on the consumer level). Most games have demos like Insidious said but for a looping program I have found nothing better to test my card then 3dmark.

Other things would just play games like giants, sacrifice, unreal tourny, q3, RTWC, or any other high graphics games at high res for a long time.

run Xisle dinosaur island demo, let that loop. it has extensive use of GF3 featurs, and if your cpu or videocard is clocked to high, you'll know it looping that demo

But there are no stand alone programs are there?

What I mean by too simple is that if you overclock the videocard it'll run 3dkmark forever without problems, but if I play games etc. it'll show artifacts are freeze.

Lots of people agree with me on this one.
