Not confirmed. Could be a matter of interpretation.
I heard a worker interviewed yesterday saying the same thing

Also I don't know how "you will more then likely be fired" can be misinterpreted.
Employees congregated in bathrooms and inside hallways, but the real tornado wouldn’t arrive for several more hours. After employees decided that the immediate danger had passed, several began asking to go home, the workers said.

“People had questioned if they could leave or go home,” said Emery, who preferred to stay at work and make extra money. Overtime pay was available, but it wasn’t clear whether those who stayed were offered additional pay.

Supervisors and team leaders told employees that leaving would probably jeopardize their jobs, the employees said.

“If you leave, you’re more than likely to be fired,” Emery said she overheard managers tell four workers standing near her who wanted to leave. “I heard that with my own ears.”[

And that's where interpretation comes in. Warnings are issued minutes in advance, not hours. So if this discussion indeed took place hours before, if could be within reason as there was no imminent threat at that point and they may have felt it could pass without harm and they could return to work safely. If the discussion took place in the minutes between the warning and the strike, it would be unreasonable.

Nah
If you issued that order two hours ago, and you fail to reverse that shit when shit hits? That's on you.

Candle Factory Update

Louisville Emergency Services official Jody Meiman, who has helped lead search, rescue and recovery efforts at the Mayfield candle factory, said Monday evening crews have “a high level of confidence” no one is left in the factory's rubble, according to press reports.

Meiman also said that Mayfield Consumer Products has said they've verified the condition of all employees. A spokesperson for the company told The Courier Journal earlier Monday that of the 110 employees who were in the factory when the tornado hit, eight died and 102 survived.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, alright.

@DaaQ & @Shamrock - We got hammered here in NE Bullitt county. Just 3 pickup loads of limbs and branches from my yard though. 6 strings of gutter icicle lights were ripped down.
Just so you know, the metal in your metal roof is more for a long lasting durable cover, not for structural reinforcement. an 80ft pine fell on my roof via hurricane Irma and punched through it easily, trees are extremely heavy and a falling tree is a lot of energy getting released.
Yes I know this, and unfortunately it does not have a vapor barrier, due to lax permits and who you know for inspections. Which is why I wasn't able to go back to sleep. This was week before tornados.

I'm feeling really generous tonight. More thoughts and prayers to the Trumpies affected by the tornados. You know the ones that want to destroy a democratic society and vote for a Senator that wants to deny aid to blue regions during major disasters. So many thoughts and prayers I don't know what to do with them.
Not every person in KY is a R, hence why we have a D Governor, although were I live it is super Red. Full of morons.

I just heard something that made me sick to my stomach. The candle factory ordered their people to stay at work after the tornado warning issued.

I'm sure more will come out about this. Interview with a worker.
People leaving a good structure to attempt to drive away from a tornado are stupid. Might work if no one else has that idea and you know where the tornado is and where it is going. But lots of people have the same idea and get stuck in traffic.

In every major tornado in the OKC area in my life time, there have been people killed that left a good structure and were killed in their cars.

What exactly should've Amazon done? What was done in the two warehouses next door? If the tornado was shifted 1000 feet it would've taken out those two warehouses, instead of Amazon. Would people have been dumping on those no name companies?

This attitude really drives me nuts. Around here, we now have daycares and schools send kids home during an active tornado outbreak, forcing them on to roads and into apartments and trailer homes as opposed to good commercial structures with good interior spaces. Whats worse is most of the schools around OKC now have EF5 rated shelters, yet they still send kids home to ride out tornado in trailer parks, a lot of times home alone.
