looks like all that heat and humidity from the southern US that has hit us is now producing severe thunderstorms and now a tornado warning for us here in London Ontario.

Environment Canada:

1:32 PM EDT Friday 19 July 2019
Tornado warning in effect for:

  • London - Parkhill - Eastern Middlesex County

At 1:32 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.

This dangerous thunderstorm is located near Arva, moving southeast at 40 km/h.

Locations impacted include:
London, Ilderton and Arva.

This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.

For more information: http://www.emergencymanagementontario.ca/english/beprepared/beprepared.html.

This is going to be an interesting day.

We had a family business in Edmonton get partially destroyed by a tornado. Luckily no one was hurt but it did a ton of damage to green houses/trailers. Who would of thought there could be tornadoes that far north?

That's what you get for harboring all that chilly air.

Back in April, straight-line winds laid waste to this town. Buildings smashed and roads blocked by full size trees that toppled. Even the steeple of a church got buried point-down through the roof of the sanctuary.

It's scary how Tornados are actually a thing in Ontario now. They never were before other than maybe super rare episodes but it seems they happen every few years like that one in Ottawa last year, or was it year before? Mostly down south mind you, for now... with climate change who knows how things will get even here. It hit like 30C today with a humidex of 35. Was brutal. Mind you even as a kid I do remember getting the odd day like this, but it just seems way more common now. The weather overall is also more sporadic. One extreme to the other within a single day sometimes.

Yep, between the ticks and tornadoes your days are surely numbered.

The sky, it is falling.
