A tornado hit Halifax, PA on Friday. Killed one woman when a tree fell on her car as she was stopped at the red light. Lots of homes and several businesses were destroyed or damaged.

This happened sometime before I left to go home from work. So I ended up sitting in traffic or in a parking lot for about an hour and half until I learned of a detour.

It was pretty crazy.

So I returned to work today and drove through the area affected. Wow. You see stuff like this on TV but it doesn't really hit you until you see it in person. Pretty amazing how much damage was caused. Trees down all over the place, parts of buildings strewn all over, buildings smashed up, etc.

Pretty messed up over there, it's kind of rare for tornadoes to occur in the late fall season, when it's supposed to be colder. I haven't yet seen tornadoes in person, but have seen them on television.

It was rumored a few touched down in Pittsburgh-- and you know it's bad when tornadoes come our way (extremely hilly terrain).
