bwahaha. we have no bench! but at least we don't have charles bloom's haircut

Yep, if any team in the SEC has a horrible bench, it's UK. With two of our best guys injured right now, we only play about 8 guys a game, with a couple of our starters typically playing close to, if not all, 40 minutes.

Basically, if we win the first game against Georgia, we're fucked against the SEC West champion Mississippi State.

LOL, the SEC fucked the pooch on this one. The game will now start at 12:00 today at Georgia Tech. No fans from any teams will be allowed, only players families, team bands, cheerleaders and the press/tv people. The winner will have to play a final game at 8:30.

The SEC needs to shove this up their ass.

I came down from Nashville to watch this and now can't go see my team (Tennessee) play any more games. WTF? I couldn't care less about the two-in-one day scenario as there was really nothing else they could do. However, limiting attendance is ridiculous. It should just be first come/first serve show your ticket and we'll let you in until capacity is reached. After that point you get a refuund.

Meh.

Thats what you get for being from Nashville and supporting Tennessee instead of Vanderbilt :disgust:. Incidentally I support Vanderbilt and am moving to Knoxville in 2 months, I'm sure that will go over well :p.

If KY loses the game and misses the tournament because of it the fans are going to be pissed.

It's a bunch of bull, but they gotta finish the championship before sunday evening. And it's bull to make them play twice in one day.

It's going to be a surreal game to watch. With what us Kentucky folk are used to when it comes to crowd noise in games, it'll feel like a pick-up game today.

EDIT: Just read on ESPN.com that the arena they are playing the remainder of the SEC in, Georgia Tech's arena, only seats 9,100. Regular UK games typically bring in around 22k to 24k people every single game.

GD one retarded decision after another. Wouldn't throwing a tarp over the hole in the dome be asking too much? From what I saw it wasn't that bad.

from 25,000 people cheering to 9,100 fans being able to watch, Good job, you are proving that you are only a football conference after all.

but its not going to be 9100 fans, it's going to be players family, bands/cheer(why?) and credentialed individuals. I don't know if they will even fill it up.

the media and press will fill up the rest, that way when the fans are sitting in their hotel rooms they can watch something while looking at their unused tickets and crying.

Michael Slive needs to be fired. First not letting Georgia play against a decent opponent in the BCS game this year. Allowing the game to be finished last night, but deciding it's too unsafe to play the other game and instead will make Kentucky play 2 games in one day....then telling all the fans with tickets "Fuck you" and moving it to a small venue where they can't watch it.

I think ESPN said this morning that with all the people they are letting in, it will only be about 2,000 in attendance.

Yeah, but what else can you do? Selection Sunday is going forward with or without the SEC.

BINGO!

And on top of that, they could have let the fans in on a first come, first serve basis and screwed only part of them. Now they screwed them all!!!

The tournament director stated that they did not have the security in place to handle the crowds that would have shown up for a first come, first served basis. 20,000 folks showing up to try and get 8,000 seats.

Looking at the pictures of the damage, I can see why they didn't continue after UA/MSU game. The temperature in the building was also dropping.

I don't agree with not letting in the fans of the teams though. Since they had to move to a smaller building, I'm sure they're doing the best they can. This is pretty much unprecedented.

They have to get the championship game in by Sunday or they lose the automatic bid for the SEC.

Plus there's the issue of what's fair in regards to fan ratio and the multiple games that are to be played there today.

It's kind of chilly in hockey arenas as well. All they had to do was close off that section and go to the 24 hour walmart and get a tarp or something to throw over it. Game on.

Yep, a $50 blue tarp from Walmart would definitely patch up the largest indoor stadium in the US. :D

That's a BS reason. Simply shift some of the GA Dome security there. Hell, Hanna Montana needs more security than this did.
