Hey Everybody....
Well, the delay of nForce doesn't help this much. I am torn right now....I need to put together some sort of desk top system in the very near future. The primary purpose of this is mainly server storage and a print server. Now here's the tough part....how cheap do I WANT to go? Originally my plans were a KT266A, Radeon 8500DV, the works. But since then, I've waaaaaay downsized what I think I need. Granted I think that getting something like an SV24 setup would be more than fine (don't plan on running a monitor) and cheap, but I just have an itchin for some new stuff.
So I was thinking an Ak31A w/ a cheap duron, and minimal stuff. Is even this too much? All I have currently is a good case (no PS) and a hard drive. I pretty much have the CD and mem narrowed down, but the bigest price effect that has the biggest oerformance hit is hte mobo and CPU.
ANy opinions? For what I need now, I really don't need much, but like I said, I really want to get something DDR, and I plan on running WinXP Pro and just remote desktop to it to configure stuff. So...need a cheap server, stable, quiet, and cheap!
