So my cousin works at Intel and tests all the new chips that are about to come out. So I currently have a QX6850 in my house right now. The motherboard he gave me to come along with the chip is an ASUS Deluxe PB5/ Wifi. Before I knew this was going to be the board, I ordered an Abit IP35 (non pro) for about 125 dollars after rebate. I am torn between these two because the Abit has the newer chipset and the Asus is just well awesome but has the older chipset. If you were in my situation, which would you choose?

Take these in consideration other than the pros and cons of each. The one I choose, I must sell the other.

The asus board came just barebone which means less money if i sell it.

Please any advice will help alot!

I'd choose both. If you can't get a decent price for the abit, use it for a spare. I wouldn't give it away. Or, you could advertise both, and take the better offer.

I'd keep the one with a warranty, but I would also keep the other one for a spare.

Ah ok, I think im leaning towards keeping the Abit one, just because of the new chipset. I'll just have to sell the Asus then, thanks guys.

Former owner of Asus P5B Deluxe. Abit IP35-E runs cooler, and overclocks higher with the same Vcore. No need to bump up NB, SB, and VTT until FSB is above 450MHz. The Asus and Abit have the double post issue during cold start. Root cause is the P965 and P35 chipset.

Abit fixed this problem with a different BIOS (IP35 Pro).
