Having looked at the pros and cons of each manufacturers 6600GTs (They're all pretty much alike), I've narrowed it down to a choice of 2. The ASUS Extreme EN6600GT-TD or the Galaxy GF 6600GT. What I want to know is;

I've seen lots of reviews of the ASUS card, stable, reliable, fast etc but it apparently has a noisy fan based on nVidias reference design. The Galaxy on the other hand uses a Zalman based quiet cooler, but I've not seen any reviews of it. Are they reliable and stable? Which would you choose? Thanks for your help (in advance). :confused:

Galaxy is a European brand if I'm not mistaken. They don't really sell much over here that I know of. On their 6800 cards they put an NV Silencer on them from the factory.

Yeah, you could get the Asus and then get a Zalman cooler as well. I would probably recommend the Galaxy if there's not much difference in cost.

Opinion is split so far! I'm in the UK and the price difference is £3.00 ($5.50) in favour of the ASUS (which is insignificant). I think the Galaxy may be German in origin.

n7 - Thanks for your input. I looked at the Leadtek, but I am looking at aesthetics as well because I have a windowed case and the green circuit board of the Leadtek will look out of place when everything else is black and blue (both of the cards I'm split over are blue). Call me picky, but I want it to look good as well as be reliable and a top performer. :D

Any more opinions? :)

Have you read the review of the Galaxy card on this site? You said you haven't read a review of Galaxy yet in your first post.

I hadn't read a review, but I have now! Thanks! Seems it's pre-overclocked a bit which is good as I'm not a fan of overclocking myself just for a few FPS that I probably wouldn't notice. The Galaxy is winning so far :D
