I just picked up the Beekeeper a couple of weeks ago, but I just can't seem to get into it. Her last really good album was the Choirgirl Hotel, IMHO.

I've always been a fan of her songs but the one CD insert that shows her suckling a piglet was more than a little disturbing.

Welcome to many years ago.

I saw her at MSG in '97. It was a great show and I enjoy her.

I almost agree, except I liked the studio disc of To Venus and Back quite a bit. "Josephine" and "1000 Oceans" are a couple of her best songs.

Scarlett's Walk and Beekeeper are not bad but they didn't really grab me either.

Try Rachel Yamagata and Vienna Teng for some female singer-songwriter goodness. There are some full-length tracks of Teng at her website (viennateng.com)

She's an incredible musician, songwriting aside (I like her songs, I'm just saying you don't even have to be into her to recognize her talent). You have to give her credit-every album sounds different than the one that came before it. I have a big poster of her on my wall ;)

What exactly has the year to do with anything? Do The Beatles suck because they made music in the 60's?
