I don't know how many people here(particularly USians) watch the new Doctor Who series, but it seems that it's doing so well it's getting a spin-off called Torchwood. It's adult-oriented and the lead will be Captain Jack, so this should be good.

The BBC has commissioned risque new series Torchwood, an anagram of Doctor Who, which will air late at night. Torchwood is to be written by Doctor Who scriptwriter Russell T. Davies and will star that program's John Barrowman. It follows a team investigating crime and alien activities in contemporary Britain. Davies says, "Torchwood will be a dark, clever, wild, sexy, British crime/sci-fi paranoid thriller cop show with a sense of humor." BBC3 boss Stuart Murphy adds, "The people have affairs with one another. There will be sex and swearing, I assume. I'm quite relaxed about that."

What was that show that had a spaceship that destroyed planets to feed and a crew that had a dead assasin, sexy semi-naked fighter, the last man, and a robot. (You always have to have a robot if you're british TV) - or was it Canadian?

Lexx and yes it was Canadian. Good show too, I have the entire series on DVD.
