Interesting episode, seems to be venturing from sci-fi and more into action adventure. Hope it gets more interesting, seems to be riding the same story line with not much development despite all the action.
 
I'm really not sure where I stand on this. While season 1 was a mess, I liked season 2, and season 3 was mostly good though I felt they took it a bit too seriously. Season 4 in that respect has been even worse, and while there have been a couple of funny moments, it's completely devoid of the campiness of the earlier seasons (and Jack being mortal really, really bugs me). I'm not sure there's really much Torchwood to it at the moment, and I think the lack of sci-fi is a big part of that problem.
 
Never saw the original Torchwood, so I can't make comparisons, but so far, this one is starting off OK. Not great, but OK.
Of course, having never seen the original, there's a lot of references that I don't get...and a lot of characters that I don't know the backstory about.
