I'm really glad it did well. As with TL1, I pre-ordered it on the very, very first day possible it was available on Steam.

However I could not call TL2 a great game. It was good but it definitely lacked something. Needless to say after playing it, having lots of fun and completing it... I still cannot name what the game lacks but something just feels missing.

I think it was a great game for the money. I seemed pretty unbalanced in multi-player mode, but the single player experience was top notch. For 15 bucks at launch, it was 1000% worth it.

I heard it was a great game but didn't get a chance to play it. I may need to pick it up now that it's on sale at Steam.

Agreed, and I can't say what it is either.

However, it's definitely worth the price of the game.

Great game and a steal at $10. Certainly was a great deal better than Diarrhea 3, and that game went for $60...

If you go to the cheapassgamer.com forums, you should be able to get in on a deal for a 4-pack of Torchlight 2 for $29.99, or $7.50 each; that's what I did last night.

i feel the same... but i only played 19hs before dropping it i dont know why.

I think its SUPER repetitive, gameplay wise (maybe not questing), but you barely have more than 1 skill to cast in the time i was playing it (lvl 40) cause i was spending all my points in my 2 skills + masteries... so i was casting 1 of my skill (a droid) once and then using the other skill until running out of mana and start doing basic attacks

i need to at least complete it once, i feel bad for dropping it

Is this like... Diablo?

Yes. Runic Studios was formed by the main devs for D1/D2 after they left Blizzard.

I, too, felt like the game got really repetitive. You pretty much concentrate on using 1-2 active skills and then the 1-2 passives that synergize best with those and/or your playstyle.

I agree that the skill system hurts the game. The problem is that the system really encourages you to pick one skill and stick with it, and you should probably pick one of the skills you can access at the start of the game.

The good news is that they have promised a comprehensive modding toolset, so with a million copies out there we should see a very strong modding community form.

i completed it once on Hard difficulty with a Berserker, i've had enough i don't feel like playing it again.
BTW i put points into all the passives LOL

I finally started playing Torchlight II, and maybe it's because I'm overzealous, but I find the game to be a lot harder than Diablo III was. Frankly, somewhat like the original, magic can be incredibly deadly for you. Last night, this one mob created this fire beneath my feet, and in the heat of the battle, I didn't even notice it at first. However, I noticed it when I died about two seconds later. I would pretty much be screwed without Purply Wolf Dash of Healing Awesomeness, which actually seems to have been nerfed (a LOT) since beta.

I need to get a repec mod and rework some of my points. I do use quite a few different abilities, but most of them are debuffs that make me deal more damage to a target such as the frost breath or howl.

From what I've seen, Runic does not like it when you call them "the people that made Diablo" because it grossly misrepresents their team. If I remember correctly, there are only two people at Runic that were at Condor/Blizzard North. David Brevik, one of the founders of Condor, is actually working on the new Marvel Heroes isometric MMO.

I agree also. It is a decent game, but I just seemed to keep waiting for something to happen that would really spike my interest, and it never did. I got a bunch of new games and put it aside for a while but plan to go back to it eventually. I think part of the problem for me as well was that the cartoony graphics seemed distracting somehow, made it seem too similar to the Fate games.

I stopped playing when their last update made me restart a level I was almost completely through.

Bought it a while back for $10. Still haven't played it. Can't see myself playing it in the immediate future either. Stupid WoW...
